Payments
Connecting your Razorpay account

BanaoStore never touches your money. Your store's checkout runs on your own Razorpay account — customers pay you directly, and settlements land in your bank account on Razorpay's normal schedule.
Before you start
You need a Razorpay account. If you don't have one, sign up at razorpay.com — you'll need your PAN, bank account details, and business information. Activation usually takes 1–2 working days.
Linking it to your store
- In Razorpay's dashboard, go to Settings → API Keys and generate a key pair
- In your BanaoStore dashboard, go to Settings → Payments
- Paste your Key ID and Key Secret, then save
That's it. Your checkout now accepts UPI, cards, netbanking and wallets.
How your secrets are protected
- Your Key Secret is encrypted before it's stored and is never shown again in any screen or API — the settings page only shows that a secret is saved, never the secret itself
- If you leave the secret field blank when editing other settings, the stored one is kept
- Each store's credentials are isolated — your keys are used only for your store's payments
Checking it works
Place a small test order on your own store and pay with UPI. You should see the payment in your Razorpay dashboard within seconds, attached to your store's order number. Refund it from Razorpay afterwards if you like.
Common issues
"Payment failed" at checkout — usually the Key ID and Secret were swapped, or the key pair was regenerated in Razorpay (which invalidates the old pair). Re-paste both.
Payments succeed but settlements are delayed — settlement timing is controlled by Razorpay, not BanaoStore. Check Settlements in your Razorpay dashboard.
