Adding products, categories and brands
16 Jul 2026 1 min read
Your catalog is three layers: categories group your products, brands tag who makes them, and products are the things people buy.
Adding a product
- In your dashboard, go to Products → Add product
- Add a clear name — write what customers search for ("Kaju Katli 500g box", not "Item 42")
- Upload photos — the first photo is the one shown in listings
- Set the price. You can also set a compare-at price to show a discount
- Choose its category and brand
- Add specifications if useful (weight, material, size)
- Save — it's live on your store immediately
Photo tips that actually matter
- Natural daylight beats any filter
- A plain background makes products look professional
- Show scale — a hand or a coin tells size instantly
- 3–4 photos per product: front, detail, packaging
Categories: think like a customer
Name categories the way customers ask: "Wedding sweets", "Under ₹500", "New arrivals". A good test — if someone walked into your shop and said the category name, would you know exactly where to take them?
When to use brands
If you sell items from multiple makers (electronics, cosmetics, packaged foods), brands let customers filter by the names they trust. If everything is made by you, you can skip brands entirely.
